“Math, it means Make Awesome Things Happen.”
With a strong mathematics background, Mr Leonard teaches mathematics with passion and loves engaging students on all levels. A dynamic and student-centred Mathematics and Physics teacher, he believes learning should feel meaningful and engaging. He often connects mathematical ideas and theories of physics to real-life situations so students can discover the purpose behind what they learn and thus understand how an equation is applied. He values two-way communication, encouraging students to ask questions, share ideas, and take an active role in the learning process. Rather than relying solely on traditional chalk-and-talk methods, he incorporates interactive elements such as games and game-based learning to boost motivation and deepen understanding. He is attentive to individual learning needs, creating customised notes or materials to support students at different levels. Overall, he balances structure, creativity, and relationship-building to create a lively, student-friendly learning experience. Outside the classroom, he is an ambivert who has a wide range of hobbies, from video gaming to attending gym to keep himself being disciplined, citing video games as his huge inspiration to an engaging class.
